Plan your journeyMaharashtra Cricket Association Stadium Pune was inaugurated in 2012, according to the ICC’s venue guide. The ground brought the association’s major international cricket to Gahunje on Pune’s outskirts, distinct from the earlier Nehru Stadium venue.
The ICC identifies Michael Hopkins as the stadium’s designer. MCA describes an elliptical, two-tier seating bowl and names Shapoorji Pallonji as the construction firm.
These details concern the Gahunje ground. Records from earlier matches at Nehru Stadium are not transferred to this venue.
The ICC says Sharad Pawar inaugurated the stadium in 2012. Its guide identifies Kings XI Punjab versus Pune Warriors in April 2012 as the venue’s first IPL match.
The first T20 international followed in December 2012, when India played England.
MCA records ICC Test-centre approval in 2015. The stadium hosted its first Test in February 2017, India versus Australia.
The ground’s Test history is kept separate from its short-format and IPL records below.
The ICC’s World Cup venue guide scheduled five 2023 ODI World Cup games at the ground, including India versus Bangladesh.
World Cup ODIs remain ODI matches; they must not be added again when counting all ODI fixtures.

The named scorecards show that this Maharashtra stadium has produced very different innings across the formats. A Test score of 601/5 declared is not a T20 par score, and an IPL lowest total does not establish that every surface is difficult to bat on.
Check the current strip, recent weather and bowling execution before applying a permanent batting-friendly, pace-friendly or spin-friendly label. No verified pace-versus-spin wicket split or match-win probability is invented here.
The operator’s documents do not establish one reproducible straight and square boundary pair for every match. The pitch strip and rope position change the actual playing boundary. Do not treat seating-bowl dimensions as six-hitting distances.

No future fixture is inserted without an official match-specific announcement. Check the published date, Gahunje venue and start time before buying tickets or booking travel.
The Pune MCA stadium is at Gahunje, Maval, Pune district, Maharashtra 412101. Use the stadium address, rather than another Pune cricket venue or the association’s city-office address.
No direct stadium Metro connection is asserted from the checked operator guide. Plan an onward road transfer, not a station-to-gate walk.
Choose the complete journey: Check the operational line and station for your starting point, then arrange the Gahunje road leg. For this match: Do not assume an event shuttle, last-train extension or ticket travel benefit unless announced.
Check services for the date and your starting point. A bus towards the wider Pune area is not confirmation of a stadium-gate stop.
Before boarding: Confirm the stop and final transfer to the stadium with the transport operator. After the match: Plan the return leg before arriving; a routine service may not operate late enough for the finish.
Use the arrival station printed on your railway ticket and arrange the final road journey to Gahunje.
Station choice: Do not assume every train serving Pune stops at the same station or is the best choice for the stadium. Final transfer: Check the current road route, ticketed gate and any event restrictions before booking a taxi.
If you arrive by air, include the airport-to-stadium road transfer in your match-day plan.
Allow transfer time: Check live traffic and the event’s entry deadline; no fixed airport distance or journey time is promised. Return booking: Leave time for stadium exit queues and the airport check-in deadline.
MCA locates the stadium in Gahunje and describes access from Pune, Mumbai and neighbouring areas.
Use the stadium address: Select MCA International Stadium, Gahunje, rather than a city-centre cricket venue. Parking and entry: Confirm authorised parking, vehicle restrictions and your stadium gate from the current organiser notice.
Source: MCA’s official stadium profile and contact/address page. Direct station links, exact journey times, event shuttles and parking prices are not asserted without current match-specific confirmation.
For Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium Pune, use the match organiser’s current ticket announcement. A past sale page does not establish that tickets are available for another fixture.
Check a dated local forecast before travelling to the Pune international cricket stadium. This evergreen venue guide does not display an undated rain percentage as a match forecast.
MCA describes a sand-based outfield and drainage system, but good drainage does not guarantee uninterrupted play. Actual rain, surface conditions and ground inspection determine whether cricket can continue. Dew should be assessed from on-ground observations, not assumed solely because a match is played at night.
The ground is at Gahunje, Maval, Pune district, Maharashtra 412101. Use the official stadium address when planning the final road transfer.
MCA publishes seating for up to 45,000; the ICC’s 2023 venue guide lists 37,000. These are different published figures, so confirm the active event’s seating and ticket map.
No fixed straight and square boundary distances are asserted from the checked operator documents. Rope placement, the selected strip and the direction of a shot affect the actual distance.
A direct stadium Metro connection was not established from the checked official material. Check current services and arrange the final road transfer.
No. The records section separates IPL from men’s Test, ODI and T20I evidence. It does not merge records from the older Nehru Stadium.
