Naman Dhir: Profile
Naman Dhir is an India and Mumbai Indians middle-order batter from Punjab who also bowls right-arm offbreak. He entered Mumbai's IPL setup after a high-impact Sher-e-Punjab T20 League season and has since become a flexible middle-order option.
Dhir's early senior path ran through Punjab: he made his first-class debut in December 2022, then played a supporting role in Punjab's 2023-24 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy win. His 466 runs at a strike rate of almost 193 in the 2023 Sher-e-Punjab T20 League helped bring him to Mumbai Indians' attention.
Mumbai Indians signed him for INR 20 lakh ahead of IPL 2024, retained him with the right-to-match card for INR 5.25 crore ahead of 2025, and used him across all 16 matches in 2025. By 2026 he had made his ODI and T20I debuts for India, including a three-wicket T20I debut spell against West Indies.

Batting and utility analysis
- IPL runs
- 710 37 matches, 33 innings; latest published Cricbuzz career summary retrieved 22 October 2026.
- IPL strike rate
- 163.98 Cricbuzz summary; ESPNcricinfo displays 163.97 for the same 37-match IPL sample.
- T20I wickets
- 5 Six T20Is, four bowling innings, including 3/31 on debut; Cricbuzz summary retrieved 22 October 2026.
Dhir's verified profile is built around aggressive middle-order batting: his IPL career strike rate is above 163, and his 42 not out from 15 balls against New Zealand on 22 October 2026 was a decisive late-innings contribution in a successful 225 chase.
His offbreak is a genuine secondary skill rather than a documented specialist workload. He took 3 for 31 on T20I debut and has five T20I wickets, while his IPL table records no wickets from 52 balls. The contrast supports describing him as a batting-led allrounder without overstating his bowling role.
