Rohit Sharma: Player Profile

Rohit Sharma is an Indian international cricketer widely regarded as one of the finest opening batters in modern limited-overs cricket. Born on 30 April 1987 in Nagpur, Maharashtra, he is a right-handed batter known for his timing, pull shots, powerful six-hitting and ability to convert starts into big scores. He also bowls occasional right-arm off-break deliveries and represents Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Rohit made his international debut in 2007, featuring in both ODIs and T20 Internationals. After initially establishing himself in India's middle order, he developed into one of the team's most successful opening batters. His three ODI double-centuries, including a world-record 264 against Sri Lanka in 2014, remain among the defining achievements of his career.
